Jerry and Garry is a series of Dreamtoons shorts that debuted in 1948. The shorts follow a cat and dog named Jerry and Garry on crazy adventures. Jerry debuted in 1947, paired with a crow very similar to Crawford Crow, while Garry made his debut in the duo's official first outing, 1948's Jerry and Garry. The shorts originally ended in 1970, but they proved popular that they returned in 1973 and ended again in 1980, the characters became forgotten until they became mascots for Pepsi in the 80s, and they're appearance in The Dreamtoons Movie, Since 1992, the shorts have been revived from time to time, being one of the few Dreamtoons shorts to still release theatrically. The duo would later influence other characters in terms of personality, including the titular character from Garfield, and the titular characters from Ren and Stimpy.

In 2012, The duo received a live-action action-slapstick-comedy feature film, Jerry and Garry: Guardians of Earth.

Trivia[]

  • The duo are very popular on the internet, even with non-Dreamtoons fans, including an infamous R34 image of Jerry having sex with Edmond from Rock-a-Doodle, the image even got referenced in the Cinema Snob's review of Guardians of Earth, when he did a series of Dreamtoons Movie reviews.
  • Harry, Jerry's cousin, would return in Guardians of Earth where he was an antagonist seeking revenge on Garry for separating him from Jerry, and was also working for the Granhampa (who was a god in this version, and the brother of Dreamus), and used a mech suit to fight the duo, although this suit has been compared to the Shredder in the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, it was actually inspired by Sauron, this version of Harry isn't a hillbilly like the original version either, this interpretation of the character was also featured in the Jerry, Garry, and Goldy: Beast Hunters comic sub-series in the Dreamtoons comic books.
