Box office[]

Like other animated films in the early 1940s, such as Walt Disney's Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi, as well as Max Fleischer's Mr. Bug Goes to Town, Headin' South had initially appeared as a major box-office failure during its release, with the first total of $343,000 domestically. The reason for the film's failure was not just because of its small promotion, but as well as America had entered the impact following a year after the attack of Pearl Harbor, during World War II.
