Headin' South is a 1942 American animated musical comedy-adventure film produced by Dora Wilson Productions, in an partnership with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Cartoon Studio (as both studios' first full-length feature film), and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It stars the voices of Shirley Temple (in her only animated-film role), TBD

Headin' South was released on November 11, 1942. The film received generally positive reviews, but was a poor performance commercially and wasn't released outside the United States due to World War II. The film eventually made a profit in its 1946 reissue and became a cult classic after theatrical re-releases, television airings and home video releases and is now considered one of the greatest animated films ever made, with a 100% rating on the website Rotten Tomatoes.

DreamWorks later released two direct-to.video sequels, Headin' South Again and Headin' South Pole, in 2002 and 2010, respectively. In 1990, Headin' South was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant", making it the first DreamWorks Animation film and the second animated film to earn that honor after Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In 2016, the film was added to The Criterion Collection.
