Goldy Locks is an animated cartoon character created in the late 1930s by Bill Tytla and Martin Taras for Dora Wilson Productions (later known as DreamWorks Animation). She is best known for her starring roles in the Dreamtoons series of animated short films produced by Dora Wilson. She is inspired by the protagonist Goldilocks from the fairy tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Goldy is a blonde little girl who is notably known for her innocent and naïve personality. She is also characterized by her Shirley Temple-styled voice, her superhuman strength and her usual encounters with anthropomorphic animals. Due to Goldy's popularity during the Golden Age of American animation, she became not only an American cultural icon, but also one of the most recognizable characters in animation along with fellow Dreamtoons characters Joey Kangaroo, Wolfen Wolf, the Goat Kids, Red Riding Hood, the Wacky Ducks, King Julien, and Peter and Cat.

Several of Goldy's shorts in the Golden Age of American animation usually have her trying to be just like any other kid her age. Goldy was usually an outcast among the town's other children due to her streight causing havoc. She tries to play with her school's children, but they called her names, mocked her for her strength, and would leave her alone in tears. Wolfen Wolf would show up and upon seeing Goldy and overhearing the distraught girl's crying in loneliness, would disguise himself, feign friendship, and set traps along the way to eat her, all of which would prove ineffective on Goldy and comically backfire on Wolfen, with him getting injured in slapstick fashion. Thoughout the short, Goldy was blissfully unaware of Wolfen's true agenda but would come to realize the truth about her predator when his final attempt caused his disguise to fall apart and dispose of him, usually by saying in a shocked way: "Wait a minute! You're that wolf my mother warned about! You were trying to kill me!", and would beat up Wolfen, who then ran away in fear shorty after a brief but severe bashing (in two 1959 cartoons, however, Goldy remained blissfully unaware and the exasperated Wolfen finally gave up, fleeing Goldy before any more misfortune befell him). In the end, a defeated Wolfen would be about to give up hunting children until seeing the children who bullied Goldy at the beginning and decide to eat them instead (usually saying "At the end, who am I anyways?! A wolf or a mouse?!"), successfully capturing them and taking them away in a bag, giving them their comeuppance as Goldy would watch it along with other outcast kids, breaking the fourth wall by saying "I guess that it serves them right for mocking us."
