Go Fish Animation (often known simply as Go Fish) is an American film production and distribution company and a division of DreamWorks Studios. It was founded in 2000, originally known as Go Fish Pictures, to produce and release formerly arthouse, independent and foreign films, now anime films and television series. The name 'Go Fish Pictures' came from Go Fish Studios, the original incarnation of DreamWorks Television. The division experienced success with the anime films Millennium Actress and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence in 2003 and 2004 respectively, which led them to venture into releasing live-action films with the release of The Chumscrubber.
However, The Chumscrubber was a commercial and critical failure, which led DreamWorks to announce that it would only produce and distribute anime films and shorts after the release of the Japanese film Casshern which released in 2007. During the same year, Go Fish Pictures was transferred to DreamWorks Animation, as its new division (as it renamed into Go Fish Animation), while its two live-action films are kept in the DreamWorks Pictures library.
